By creating a positive and fun environment, STRIVE provides a safe space for kids of all ages and abilities to learn how to play basketball, volleyball or explore a variety of sports.

Our coaches focus on proper skill development, understanding of sportsmanship, teamwork, mental toughness and most importantly character development.

Dalia Avivi
Co-Founder/ Instructor

Dalia Avivi is a physical education teacher and coach that consistently brings high energy and determination to everything she does. Dalia was Ranked #1 in the USA in Olympic-style Taekwondo for 5 straight years and competed in events all over the world. In early 2014, Dalia started her coaching career at Asphalt Green, NY as part of the soccer department. Since then she has developed several athletic programs for various sporting organizations and camps. Over the last few years she has expanded her coaching to Girls Varsity Basketball, Boys Varsity Lacrosse and Girls Varsity Volleyball which she has advanced to the PSAL Semi Finals two years in a row! Dalia has the passion and knowledge to empower young athletes to love sports and fitness and to have the drive to strive to be better each day.

Anastasia Bitis
Co-Founder/ Instructor

Anastasia is a physical education teacher and coach who consistently wants her students and athletes to grow as individuals first. Bitis was a two-sport athlete at Hunter College where she was a member of the women’s basketball team that advanced to the NCAA tournament on two occasions. She was also a part of the CUNYAC Championship winning swim team. She began coaching basketball at Maspeth HS, where she led the team to a 2015 PSAL B Division Championship, while also advancing to the finals of the New York State Federation Championship. Under her guidance, Maspeth also won four straight Division titles. In 2017, Anastasia became the Head Coach of the Women’s Basketball Team at York College, where she turned the program around and advanced to the conference Semifinals for the first time in over 10 years in the 2020 season. Anastasia has also worked with USA Basketball Youth Development as a guest speaker for the Mamba League and has been a guest speaker at multiple PSAL coaches clinics. Anastasia is passionate about player development and believes that fundamental skills have to be learned and be consistently refined for improved performance.
